🌞 Renewables Done Right: Powering People and Nature in Regional Queensland

💬 Help us deliver the facts — not fear — about renewable energy in regional Queensland.

Across the Darling Downs, Southern Downs, and South West Queensland, renewable energy projects are growing fast — but so is confusion.

Some projects have been developed in reckless ways, creating justified concern. At the same time, many communities are being flooded with misinformation and fear campaigns that divide neighbours and erode trust.

People want honest, practical answers about how renewables can be done right — protecting land, water, and wildlife while bringing lasting benefits to local communities.

📘 The Solution: Our Region, Our Energy Future

That’s why the Darling Downs Environment Council (DDEC) in partnership with the Granite Belt Sustainability Action Network, created Our Region, Our Energy Future — a trusted, locally written information booklet that cuts through misinformation with clear, factual answers to community questions.

Developed by local people for local people, it includes:
✅ Up-to-date information from scientific research and government guidelines
✅ Real stories from landholders and renewable energy hosts and neighbours
✅ Practical guidance on planning, biodiversity protection, and fair agreements

We’ve already raised enough to print and mail 3,000 copies.
Now we need your help to reach 10,000 homes, halls, and community groups across the Darling, Southern, and South West Downs.

Every booklet delivered means one more community empowered to shape renewables that work for both people and nature.

🌿 The Impact of Your Donation

Your support will help us:
🌞 Print and mail 7,000 more booklets directly to rural households across Dalby, Chinchilla, Tara, Miles, Roma, Goondiwindi, Stanthorpe, Warwick, Clifton, and beyond.
🤝 Run community outreach stalls at major regional events like FarmFest, the Roma Show, and the Tara Futures Expo.
📦 Provide booklets to partner groups — including Landcare, RE-Alliance, QFF, and local libraries — to share across their networks.
