Amaroo Environmental Education Centre is pleased to invite you to join a Cultural Burn Learning Experience on Saturday 1 August 2026 (pending permit approval and weather conditions).
This special afternoon provides an opportunity to learn from Cultural Fire Practitioner Robbie Williams and the Fire Lore ranger team about the traditional practice of Cultural burning and its role in caring for Country.
Participants will gain insights into:
- Reading and understanding Country
- The “right” kind of fire
- When and why Cultural Burns are undertaken
- How cool burning supports healthy, resilient ecosystems
The afternoon will include:
- 1:00 pm – Cultural Fire learning session
- 2:00 pm – Light refreshments
- 2:30 pm – Live Cultural Burn demonstration within Amaroo’s bushland (subject to permit approval and suitable weather conditions)
This event is open to all community members. All attendees must wear closed-in footwear and protective clothing.
School-aged students are welcome to attend with parent or guardian supervision.
